In case of vessels arriving for bulk unloading of grain/ timber logs at the notified
port, the master of the vessel serves, through their shipping agent, a notice of
arrival to the officer-in-charge of concerned PQ station for undertaking inspection
and clearance. Immediately upon receipt of the arrival notice, the officer-in-charge
shall inform the shipping agent for arranging the visit of PQ staff for inspection
of the ship holds either at mooring or in special circumstances at outer anchorage
or mid sea, as the case may be. The shipping agent shall be responsible for arranging
the necessary facilities to go to the vessel for conducting inspection / fumigation
as the case may be.
